MaxMartin Tuition and the MaxMartin app

Who we are

MaxMartin Tuition is a small live online tutoring service run by two qualified teachers, Max and Martin. We are responsible for the information described here. Contact us any time at hello@maxmartintuition.com.

What we keep, and why

InformationWhy we need it
Parent or student email address, name, phone number and the courses you signed up forTo set up your login, run your classes and send lesson emails and reminders
Students' own email addresses (if you add them)So lesson recordings and resources go straight to the student
Your password, stored only as a scrambled hashTo check your login. We can never see your password
Which weeks have been paid for (a tick, no card or bank details)To open the right lessons for you
What you open and when (for example a lesson, recording or exam pack), the device type and IP addressSo your tutors can see who is keeping up and help early. It also helps us spot misuse of a login
App progress: XP, streaks, badges, practice answers and saved self-guided lesson answersSo your progress follows you to a new phone or computer

We do not show adverts, we do not sell or share your information for marketing, and the app has no third-party tracking or analytics. The website's visitor counter uses no cookies and does not keep IP addresses.

Who helps us run the service

We use a few trusted companies to host and deliver lessons. Each only processes information to provide its service to us:

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you are enrolled with us. Activity records are kept in monthly files and trimmed over time. When you leave, or ask us to, we remove your login and delete what we hold, except anything we must keep by law (such as basic payment records for tax).

Deleting your account

In the app, go to Me → Delete my account. On the website, email hello@maxmartintuition.com. We confirm by email, usually within two working days. Because one family login can be shared by brothers and sisters, we check with the account holder before deleting.

Children

Accounts are set up by a parent or carer when a student joins. Students under 13 use the service with their parent's or carer's agreement.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we will reply within a month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
